Bruised and Battered.... Should be the Taconic 911
I think this course was very much like Blue Mountain when it comes to climbing, rocks and techy stuff. The wet conditions make it super slippery for me. My tires pressure was too high and my stem and handlebar setup was way too forward and low causing me to be very clumsy. From the first mile, I knew I was in trouble when my front wheel was washing out on everything, especially off camber rooty and rocky turns.
On the climbs, especially with rocks, I was spinning the back wheel like crazy.
I ate sh!t real bad on one of the fast and flowy desents which took the fight out of me. It was like a slow motion super man @ about 20 - 25 mph which then turned into a hard roll off my left shoulder and arm. I must have slipped several times on silly little techy rocks / root thingys which cause me to fall and bang up my legs and arms.
By the time I got to the final decending sections, I was defeated and riding very defensive and stiff because I didn't want to fall anymore. I just wanted to make it back to in one piece.
Taconic won this one...
