we need to line the trail with a couple hundred sham-wows.
When snow is heavy it is not awesome for riding. The tires sink into wet sticky snow, even with a fat bike. If there is more then 4" of snow there it will be a slog...imo.Tomorrow morning should be awesome for snow riding. The snow is heavy
if you do go out, be aware that there are going to be a lot of unstable trees and branches. i have limbs - and trees - dropping left and right in my yard.
this storm is going to create a big need for clean up.

Yeah I was just coming back to say the same thing. I lost 2 trees on my property today (so far). Going to be a lot of downed trees/branches out there. Think I'll stick to my neighborhood for today.
Yes but you would have to go and be done very early before the temps get above freezing and the sun starts doing its thing. Which looking at the overnight temps, would mean a mess at about 34deg and sunny by 9am SatMornings are going to be awesome now (if there are not too many trees down on the trail). Snow conditions are awesome in the AM when it's cold and frozen.

not surprising at all...same exact conditions at rutgersWent out early this AM. Lots of downed trees from what I saw, but didn't get far. Rode/hiked White and some of Red.
A bit sloggy. Crust not holding weight, even with low pressure and big tires. Some foot traffic making for a bumpy ride. Needs snowshows or cross-country people out there to "groom" 🙂
is there a guide on how far up from the base? done this a few times at home for smaller trees but have a few larger in the back I'd like to fallCut underneath and come up on weight load of tree, so as not to pinch saw. Repeat as necessary to clear trail. Chainsaw 101😉
