6 Mile Run Conditions

major flooding in the area - canal road was closed - couldn't even get to the lot from rocky hill. still bet some ying yangs are in via 27 lot tho...

Drove by yesterday on Blackwells Mills Rd. The bridge, Blue trail, visible from the road is sideways. Must have been a lot of water moving through there.

Rode by the canal lot and it was filled with dopes with muddy bikes. And yeah, I saw the bridge from blackwells mills - it got knocked cockeyed on the other side of the creek coming from canal lot - looks like you could still get over it - maybe...

Went on a hike here yesterday walked orange and returned on red, mud in almost every corner, as well as completelysubmerged sections of trail this place needs some time and sunlight before it will be ride able again.

Yeah, if this is what you see when you drive to the canal lot, don't ride. This was on my drive in this morning. Crappy pic, but you can see how far the water stretches.

amen. and its f'ing with my road loop.

did you see the pothole on the north bound side down by the griggstown causeway? its across the entire lane. gonna work my bunny hop skillz to clear that one.

canal road has gotten beat up from all this rain.

Yeah this sucks. My usual morning commute takes me across Blackwell mills. It's been closed 5 days straight now.

Any word on if the water has receded? I want to hit a trail tomorrow afternoon, and if 6 Mile is a no-go, are there any decent alternatives?

so the water has definitely pulled back, BUTT i dunno how 6MR will be. it was definitely ridden this weekend - saw a few muddy bikes in town on the back of cars. give it a go and report back conditions.

my guess: i bet any of the lower areas are gonna be mucky - the trail over by the fancy bridge at the trail split by south middlebush road will be mucky. there will probably be some corners and any lower spots that will mostly likely be mucky too.

i rode by the non-existent-but-used red trail on canal rd this morning on my bike and saw a big puddle right at the entrance - and that spot is usually dry. so .00002% of 6MR is no good definitely. the fields look like they are still draining from the looks of the run off coming into canal rd.

I work in Somerset a few miles away. It just started raining (T-storm) and the drop-direction on the windows indicate it's heading towards 6MR. 🙁

We seem to be in the cross-hairs. Another cell is heading right for 6MR. Dying to try out jdog's SS loaner there if the friggen rain would hold off for a few days...
