http://problemsolversbike.com/products/chain_tensionersWhat brand is this tensioner @UtahJoe
Any skippage or other issues?http://problemsolversbike.com/products/chain_tensioners
I used the same one on my FS.
Only if you use the wrong cog. I was wondering why it had a max tooth rating when I first got it, but I YOLO'd with a 21T anyway. That did skip under power. With an 18T max that it calls, for it works great. I forgot if Utah ran 34/17 or 36/18, but either way he must have not had a mechanical coming in 2nd.Any skippage or other issues?
My fatty has thru axles though, wondering if this will work...guess I will email themIMO, just get this and be done with it

I don't want to be limited to an 18...give mooch a try on 34/18 and u will wish u had a 22
eIt just don't see it make for a good chain tensioner. It's mostly made for preventing chain slap and chain coming off on 1x setups before clutch derailleurs became standard. It also doesn't have a way adjust for correct for chainline. If it's on a hardtail, the Surly is ok if you have it in push up mode with some zip ties.
Make sure the chain line is VERY straight and test it first. Make sure you test it by riding through a puddle or mud. But with that cog and tensioner, my works with no issues....even in the mud.Any skippage or other issues?
This is basically to toy with the idea of selling my ss rig and doing dual duty with the fatty. Then I will get the fs for other ventures.Make sure the chain line is VERY straight and test it first.
