Not sure if Utah gets internet service in Canada, but it is a problem solvers tensioner

Any skippage or other issues?
Only if you use the wrong cog. I was wondering why it had a max tooth rating when I first got it, but I YOLO'd with a 21T anyway. That did skip under power. With an 18T max that it calls, for it works great. I forgot if Utah ran 34/17 or 36/18, but either way he must have not had a mechanical coming in 2nd.

works perfectly, i would say it is the best tensioner. i've used RD's as tensioners and the surly one, this one takes the cake. takes a little time to setup but once its good, its good.

Trying to figure out if I should do something like this or machine a plate for my bb to mount a dh style tensioner so I can ss my fatboy

I decided to try a blackspire stinger as I run many different cogs. I go all the way from 16-22.

Just do this...lol

It just don't see it make for a good chain tensioner. It's mostly made for preventing chain slap and chain coming off on 1x setups before clutch derailleurs became standard. It also doesn't have a way adjust for correct for chainline. If it's on a hardtail, the Surly is ok if you have it in push up mode with some zip ties.

Well, I guess slack adjuster is a better term as I am not geared or fs so in this particular setup I will use a seperate chain for each cog size and the "adjuster" will just remove the slightest bit of "slop".Guessing it will be fine but this weekend will tell all.

Make sure the chain line is VERY straight and test it first. Make sure you test it by riding through a puddle or mud. But with that cog and tensioner, my works with no issues....even in the mud.

This is basically to toy with the idea of selling my ss rig and doing dual duty with the fatty. Then I will get the fs for other ventures.
