Tariffs...what to make of them.

It's actually kinda amusing to see. Trump does something clearly against what he ran on, the MAGA base kinda pushes back, Fox News gives them their talking points, 24 hours later they recite the same argument they heard on there verbatim.
the fox news brain washing is quite a sight to behold.....That plus the fact that we have created this democrat vs republican duopoly where both sides hate each other more than the Ayatollah doesn't help. Although the pettiness from Trump is unlike anything politics has ever seen.

Further proof that this is a cult....read the comments LOL

Joe Kent DARED to go against dear leader....OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!!!!!!!!

I've watched this first hand with my MAGA father. Very interesting for him to say "well, the other countries are paying for the tariffs." speaking slowly watching his brain internally fight two thoughts at once and letting the MAGA side win out.

He's in the import business, so he clearly knows how it all works. Just has the capability to lie to himself about it without seeing it.
To be fair, other countries presumably "pay", in the form of reduced demand or maybe lowering their prices to compensate for the tariffs. Trump has said that one of the goals is to return manufacturing to the US, but if that happens, there will be fewer imported goods and less tariff revenue. I think I read somewhere that he's suggested replacing the income tax with tariff revenue, so those 2 goals are somewhat at odds with each other...

"...somewhat at odds..." spelled impossible.

Bottom line: the cost of the tariffs are borne by the US consumer. While demand would be reduced by the higher price, I don't believe that it is realistic to expect much of the cost of the tariffs to be paid by the vendors.

I hope my vendors don't raise the price of my Epstein memes.

Tulsi setting up the need for full regime change operation

"If a hostile regime survives, it will likely seek to begin a yearslong effort to rebuild its military, missiles and UAV force," Gabbard said

Is it safe for all the solar, wind and EV lobbyists to come out of hiding yet?
Probably not...

I did see an interesting IG clip last night from someone in KY. She hasn't been living at her home for months - so minimal usage, but her electric bill is around $1200. That's just wild... for whatever reason, PECO hasn't come up with an excuse to raise ours yet... My March bill was a bit under $100, but despite being WFH and thus being home almost 24/7, it is a pretty small house. It is all-electric, except for oil forced air heat.

I did just get my homeowner's insurance bill - up about 10% over last year.

Property taxes up almost 3k in one year, just got NJNG bill of almost 500, elec 300, and cable just increased by 500 a year. Musicians are still getting the same gig pay as 1985. Was looking fwd to 1st year qualifying for Stay in NJ program and it's being cut from 6500 to 4k. But that's just me. Yawl prolly just fine.

Well luckily the republican's new cheap health insurance that doesn't exist will only be costing me $30k/year when my wife retires in 2 weeks. Not that we'll use that with the $9500 deductible.

And who has been ruling NJ ? The D's? And you guy's keep complaining the Trump hasn't stopped the Ukraine war as he promised? Are you now taking the helicopter pilot Gov to case for not lowering utility bills as she campaigned on? When's the no Queen protest? You're going? Maybe ask fellow musician billionaire Bruce or Bongiovi with your gig pay? Any hypocrisy anywhere?

What branch of the military did you serve? Weird choice using "helicopter pilot" as a derogatory term during an active war.

Amazing how much you guys hate veterans but love to send them to die in the middle east.
