    wow! i want an iphone

If it is going to happen, "they" say, that the contract is up this calendar year. However, the buzz in the telecom industry is that AT&T is confident that they will remain the sole iPhone carrier for another term.

    wow! i want an iphone

iPhones are essential. All the apps are great. Try AllSportGPS. For 10 bucks your iPhone becomes a GPS, tracks your ride, elevation gain and loss, calories burned, maps, time, distance, etc... You can upload it to the website (your personal account) and keep your stats there. You can save...

The death of the 26" bike

I'm 5'8" and ride a medium Salsa Big Mama. I too thought 29rs were for taller-s but this bike rocks! It's a climbing machine and soaks up everything. I don't have it set for racing. But that is a personal preference and easy to change. The only downside on a 29r is on tight switchbacks...

looking for some people to ride with, new to the area

Welcome home and to the site! We all appreciate your service! If you're ever in the Morristown area, send a note and we can ride Lewis Morris. Less technical, but some nice climbs and it rides fast.

is my bike a good mountain bike

Second that. Thanks for serving! And, like everyone else said, your bike is what you make of it. Just make sure it's safe. A local bike shop (LBS) will take care of you. If Halters is close to you, then it will become your second home. You'll love it there and the guys are honest...

    ringwood vs chimney rock?

Yes. East side has climbs that most can't finish. Steeeeep and rocky (of course). It's great to reverse it too.

The death of the 26" bike

That guy owned like 10+ bikes in 5 years [I lost count]. That's about $20K in bikes. Imagine if you had $20K to customize your ride.
