Tifosi lenses

I have a pair of tifosis (duro) and they are awesome. But the lenses it came with are too dark for the trails. Just wondering if anyone knows which lenses are good for trails before I order.

It came with blue, orange, and clear

Clear lenses are too dark for trails? 😕

I tried riding with amber/orange lenses at CR last night, the shadows make it impossible. Woody rode with them the whole time, not sure if he doesn't need to see, or can ride blindfolded.

Shades in the woods are hit or miss with the lighting darting through the trees.

bought these, very comfortable. Great sunglasses for the price, especially packaged with 3 lenses. For the trails I generally just use a clear lens anyway. Mine came with clear, smoke, and green/amber lens. The smoke is really nice for road rides, the other lens is a bit too dark for trails that are primarily in the woods. They offer a orange fototec lens, so I might buy that one it should be perfect for mtn biking.

Clear leases work great in the dark or rain. But Im lookin for shades. They make a ton of lenses for these glasses theres got to be something that works in both conditions. Phototech sounds perfect but they are pricey for something without any input on. Hence this thread 😎

P.S. gotta tell the moderators to add a clear sunglass icon because this is a mountain bike forum right? 😎

I've been riding Tifosi slip with phototec red lenses on road and off for about 5 years now. They are perfect for almost any condition. I'll use the clear lenses when riding in the dark or with rain in low light conditions but the rest of the lenses are basically useless to me.

I wear the Tifosi Fototec clear lenses riding on the trails. The lenses adjust to the light conditions. Great for late afternoon/evening. As the woods get darker, the lenses lighten up.

So far, another one of the many things I'm quickly learning about riding on the trails is that my regular $10 aviator type shades from Walmart are not good at keeping bugs from going underneath them. So at some point in time I'm going to find a pari of glasses that fit tighter with less space around my face. 😎

+1 on the red phototec. They adjust in the sun. I also have the yellow lenses for rides late in the day or really overcast days.

I picked out a pair of Tifosi glasses today while I had a coupon from the bike shop. Got a deal on the Podium series with the 3 interchangable lenses for $44. I rode CCC and right around 6:30pm the red/amber lenses started to not be so good. But prior to that with more daylight overhead they were great. The clear lenses are the option for when the sun starts to level out.

Yellow lenses are doable at night but clear lenses are the ticket... I have used persimmon shade on the road at night just to test it out... No good

i got a pair of Tifosi's last year. Went to ride home yesterday. Pulled them out of my jersey and "flicked" them to open and they just split in half. POS. I by no means flicked it violently. Just went on site to see what's up the warranty. LOL they want $15 to process a warranty. Terrible CS
