N+1

Um yeah, I'd be a bit excited if this was coming home too.

I am totally with you; and totally excited! It should be at Halter's by the first week in March; the bike was initially ordered as a red bike; but the date for delivery was after my first race of the season. Then I started talking to Ben, and Di2 was available in time so it was a no brainer. Well sort of; I just wish that it was not the lame black color.

one mountain bike - a rigid SS 29er.

one road/cross bike - right now its in my basement attached to a trainer.

all I need right now

oh crap. I guess I do have more...

+ beach cruiser
+ old school bmx, currently dismantled (PROFILE frame/ fork....any one wanna buy it?!)

that makes 4, 3 of which are "single-speed"...man, I am sooo hard-core 😉

Thats quite a weapon to be taking to your first race, good luck!

The black is nice son!! It's interesting that they don't put the 7900 crank on that thing:hmmm:

-Jim.

GF Superfly
Cannondale Supersix
Giant Reign X
Giant DH Comp
Jamis Trilogy
Trek 8500

1-2 of those need to go to be replaced with a commuter/CX type of bike.

Black is not bad. Can all ways put white bar tape...😉

Agreed; I totally do not want to be that guy; you know the one. The one that finishes last with a ride that they are not worthy of; thus the hours spent upgrading my ability but I have a long way to go! But I also did not want to be the guy that bought the last VCR either on the day that the DVD was announced. I am an early adopter at heart; and I think digital is the future. Now if only I did not have to get the plane black version!

+1... good luck with it... :

Thanks, doing plenty of work on the engine as well; I am not so disillusioned that a bunch of fancy bits are going to make me faster. That is where the pain cave comes into the picture.

I have always thought that the SI crank is the lightest and stiffest crank available. I was actually excited that it did not have the 7900 crank

No way bar tape is going to a big secret; I was thinking of starting a thread to see what the brain trust here thought 😉. I am also seriously thinking about having it powder coated as well.

Thanks all! I know it is not a TT bike but I have been training for a few TRI's this year; and I thought a killer road bike would be so much more practical for the rest of the year outside of the 5-6 races that I am doing.

I wouldn't be the least bit concerned about that if I were you, man -- a setup like that will probably just make you want to ride more, which means even if you did finish DFL now, you won't be doing that for long.

But what's the problem with black? Black is the new black in bikes! 😀

'06 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR (replaced the Triad shock w/ an RP2, some other upgrades as well)

'99 Trek 8500 w/ rigid fork & Thudbuster. Thinking about a singlespeed experiment with that one.

'11 Trek 2.1 Road Bike

Also still have my first MTB - '96 Fisher Tassajara, but that's not rideable at this point.

Want to get a new MTB, maybe a 29er, but that's probably a couple of seasons away.

Almost as important is the # and quality of wheelsets you need. I need more.

Word! Wheels are the best part, but I've tamed that a bit and gotten one really nice set for mtb and road and 2-3 for cx (road set acts as third).

HT mtb (FS is on the sales block)
SS cx/commuter
Geared cx
2 road (weather and nice)

I suppose...

But what's the problem with black? Black is the new black in bikes! 😀

Just for some reason the black is not that appealing. It seems that the SWORKS black was done better; not sure it it is all the C-Dale Badging (not a big badge fan).

I am sure that it will grow on me since it is going to be a wicked ride!!

Yesterday I said good bye to my old racer-x (sniffle, sniffle), so now I am N+29er 😀.

My racer-x went to a really good home, and will probably be out racing in H2H Cat 3 this year :getsome:.

So I think I am at 7 right now, but 4 are really old bikes that are hard for me to part with and may not be worth a whole lot to others.

Three for me...

GIANT Trance X0 - It completes me
NORCO Team DH - We have a love/hate relationship
MARIN City Bear - Hybrid I bought on Craigslist for $200 to use with a baby seat. I've actually ridden this one into the city a few times, about 45 miles each way (not with the baby😱).

Does Emily have 2.5 ???

I'm having trouble keeping up with all of her bikes. A Haro mtb which she has outgrown. A Fuji road bike (outgrown). A SE bmx bike that she rides to school. (outgrown)

In a few weeks she will have a C'Dale CAAD 10 road bike. The first TT of the year is in April.
