2011 Gary Fisher Collection

Is it just me or are the new Trek Gary Fishers very underwhelming? They look like Trek frames with bad paint jobs and slightly inferior component groups from 2010. I am so upset I did not get to buy the 2010 Paragon 😡

P.S. If your selling a 2010 Paragon in a 21" frame let me know.

I just looked at the new catalog on Tuesday. I think Trek is completely missing the mark with the styling. I love the graphics on the GF bikes. I have 4 of them I like it so much. From what I have been told it was a move to GF into more stores under the Trek moniker. So GF just becomes a Trek with bad graphics and a lower spec.:hmmm:

Very underwhelming to say the least. I was considering a HiFi for 2011 but now I am looking at an Epic.

If you can swing a 19-inch frame, I'll sell my 2010 Paragon for $3000. That's how much I like it 🙂

I loved the 09' paint schemes. I am a little surprised they went to the matte black/drab scheme. However, the different component levels appears to be a plus for them.

Is the parts spec really worse for the same money? I don't have the old catalogue to compare to but would like to know where they downgraded.

I started to dislike Fisher when I cracked my '07 Rig, got the '09 on replacement and saw the cable guides and drop-out spacer.

Fisher jumped the shark when he sold out to Trek. Just need some free time to strip down and sell my '09 rig frame, I'll even throw in the warranty, you break it, I'll bring it back.

Heading to the Misfit side now.

They didn't downgrade the specs, people are just dumb😉

The prices may be a bit different (each way) but the components are updated respectively.

You can get a superfly for 3,300 ish.. It was 700 more when I bought my 2010.... Its specs represent the difference in price though.

You can also pay 4600ish for the elite which is specd better than what I had.

Bad Paint or not, they will sell more GF's this year than ever before. They made a good move in terms of turning units, and that is what it is all about.

Don't try to turn my unit without at least asking me first...

This is the theory I hear. I am curious to see how it plays out in real life. I've not had 1 single customer say something positive about the "merge". I however am very excited about the new SuperFly, even though it's grey, on grey, with grey logos, and grey on top. I'll strip it and spray paint it when I get one😀

Next stop, Target and Modells. Aspiring to be the next Mongoose at Wal-Mart.

I think Fisher is tracking me, F'in display driver stopped working!

That ain't happening. Remember we all all said the same thing when Cannondale got bought out...I still haven't seen a Flash in WalMart.

They are absolutley ugly as hell, lets just say it. Trek/GF have always been the same company really so its only a marketing difference. As to the OP.........An XL 2010 Paragon should be able to be aquired by your local dealer from somewhere, but get on it quick

Man, you guys really care that much about the color of a bike? As long as its not hot neon, who cares? Based on some of the get-ups I've seen at the races, I think bike color is not the first style choice many need to be worrying about.

totally agree, not real concerned with colors/graphics sure if there's more than one option I'll go with the one I like better. My Trek Pilot is super blah, grey with silver logos but I was more concerned with a relaxed geo carbon frame and full Ultegra than pretty colors. I see people buy snowboards based on graphics all the time, so comical

Some people like bling and others don't. Isn't it sweet how variety makes us all different?

If specs are really similar, I may end up going for the bling. It is not everything, but I have to admit that last year's paint would put me closer to risking getting in trouble at home over an impulse purchase at a store 😎
