Tell me where you rode today...

Bingo, sir! Not where I normally go but was stuck in the area for an hour for a kid-related activity, so I took my bike with me.

Go through the lot at the head damn and up the hill, the trail goes behind someones property then up through an old access out the OYR. There is a crossing into the green space across the street. It connects to the side roads off milltown. there is a moto pit. it goes down to the river and picks up a fisherman's trail to the Indian Restaurant on 202.
Probably overgrown by now - I was maintaining it for a bit.

Also at the shopping center they are tearing down, across the street is a Greenway that goes under 202, and a long the river behind somerville.
Haven't tried it past 202 from Raritan - it comes up in a parking lot just under the highway.

Oh I am totally going to try that. I know there looks like what appears to be a trail head leading up the steep hill at the lot near the dam. I tried exploring it once years ago but the trail didn’t seem to lead anywhere. Will need to try again and follow it.

It comes out here on OYR - it may or may not be passable: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RhSTphXZ7cbs9QuE6

Somerset county signs are just across OYR and up a bit: https://maps.app.goo.gl/XnscCqp2xR2UnoXx7
It is called the Chipman Tract - I don't remember if the path actually goes to 202. Def can park in the Indian Restaurant and walk a bit.
here is a ride I found: https://www.strava.com/activities/2734049060

The Chipman Tract is intriguing. I thought I explored every trail in Bridgewater but had no idea this little space existed. I’m familiar with the Somerville Greenway which is mostly paved or gravel if I recall correctly.

You can also ride into Duke Farms. If you cross the Raritan at the Nevius pedestrian bridge and keep going south, you can enter the Duke Estate from a gate there. I might do that again too on my bike. (I’m in Raritan a few times a week due to my kid’s activity there.)
