Does anyone know how much rain KVSP got last night? It rained quite a bit here, but I am hoping KVSP isn't too bad tomorrow 🙂
 
Heading there around 330 myself today! It will be awesome and you know it! It will at least it will be in better shape then by the end of sunday after the warriors have their way with it!!!
 
12-17 update?

A few of us are planning to head that way saturday (12-19) for a minimum stop/good pace ride. Mare says they got "a good amount" snow I say she's crazy...any update will help. Thanks
 
Can't speak for KVSP but rode all three mooches yesterday and 90% clear with areas of ice and water. Should be no problem.
 
Just got back and all trails are clear, 1 or 2 spots with ice but easily avoidable. Tree is still down on blue though, maybe I should say something to the office there. Seems like the only thing they care about is giving tickets to dog owners with no leashes. Theres a new trail cut in off the white, looks like a hiker trail though, goes straight down a cliff in one spot. nothing good
 
I was there too today and found the same clear trails with the muddy spots frozen solid. It was a crisp 22 degrees but not too windy in the woods. I rode the red triangle and blue trails close to route 206.

So how do you think KV will be tomorrow after the rain today? Do youthink the trails will be mostly clear of snow?

Clear of snow yes, but rather squishy.
Tomorrow is a road bike day, can't see any trail in NJ not being messy.
 
2/2/10 (groundhog day) frozen packed, minimum ruts (suprising) little to no ice. No groundhogs spotted! Rouge trails are gone thanks to John of Cycleworks...2 very large trees down on the back blue other then that very fun ride today with Pedals!!
 
today 2/4.... frozen w/ snow cover in the woods. Some minor surface thaw in the open areas just enough to speckle you with watery mud. Shoulda went yesterday. 🙄
 
Conditions At Kittatinny

A lot dryer and ridable then I would have thought.Only had to get off the bike 3 times to walk over/around a couple of mud spots.The biggest problem seems to be post holes from horses in a few spots.Guess they didn't get the memo.We had to do some tree cutting and t and m on the blue. Other than that all is good. Have at it.

I noticed that cut trail the other day.I was wondering if it was legal or not.I know in that area they have had many problems with people cutting in illegal / sniper trails.I know the rangers there are getting fed up.Ayone know if this is a legal trail?It's in the area closest to Rt. 206
 
From my understanding this is an illegally cut trail. It's gonna be a real shame
when we all get the boot from there. 😡

"No one has permission to be cutting or creating new trails in KVSP. If it continues Mountain Bikes can and will be banned from the park" That is a direct quote from the KVSP front office. If you know who is doing the trail cutting please relay the message.
 
That particular area should be watched... its not like someone is just snippin some face slappers... major construction is going on there! and nobody sees this?!! knock it off A-holes youre gonna ruin it for eveyone, and even you wont be riding your newly cut illegal trail 😡 hope you are well versed in the art of hand to rake/saw combat.... if I find ya!
