Last night I was riding the trails up by Miller lane and heading down to Gilbride.

There were some trees down that had makeshift ramps built that you could ride over..

But now those little ramps are gone and there is just big ass logs in the middle of the trail. I still got over them ok, but it kills the flow a bit... I am hoping that somebody moved the logs because they were preparing to cut a path through the logs...

Anybody have any info??

All I can say is that the logs were moved by Park Rangers yesterday.

IMHO, the logs are MUCH more dangerous now then they were before they touched them.😕

You are right.. they are way more sketchy now without the ramps.. Especially when you are hauling ass thinking you can just ride over them... and you see the ramp is gone...

If they think that makes it safe, that is an assinine thought..

Somebody needs to go up there with a chain saw and clear a path...

Interesting. I noticed the missing ramps on my ride there today. Thought it was odd that somebody did that, but I have to admit that I prefer them that way - more challenging & fun (and dangerous). But I guess I'm an oddball - I love when a big tree falls across the trail & I get to attempt crossing it, even if I only have 1% chance of cleaning it. And then I'm disappointed when it eventually gets ramped or cut out.

I rode there yesterday and don't remember the tree. Maybe it was built up and I don't remember it? I guess I cleaned it since I was still pitching my no-hitter at that point.

The rangers go a little crazy there. Some of us have seen it first hand and still see the scars of The Slaughter when we ride the orange trail. But so many trees fall here that every 2 months the park has a different feel. It's all good.

The Rangers did their 'work' late in the afternoon, so you were probably the last person to ride the logs ramped.

Cool! Maybe I should get a different forum name color to indicate just how special that moment in history is?

I wonder if we can do plaid.

If a ranger moves a tree ramp in the woods and there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound??

I don't know, but I nearly went charging over one of those... uh.... "modified" logs... That endo would have be UG-LAY... I wish the rangers would post signs... "Warning - log modification in progress, no landing ramp, prepare to tuck and roll"...

Peace,
BB

Rode CR today and i'm bummed to say that 90% of the logs are now gone. Not really sure why the park system would do this, some of that stuff has been for years. Does anyone know the reasoning behind this?

FYI, the trails were in good shape.
