Rode Wharton for the first time today with my brother and it was a blast. started out about 9:15am from Batsto lot and cruised thru the Penn trail (about 18.5 miles) in a little under 2hrs. My bro started cramping around 11mile mark and we took it slow from there. We had a great time...this is probably the best marked trail I have ever ridden and I appreciated that while we were out there. What I didn't realize was how many ticks were around waiting to feast on my sweet irish blood...I stopped counting after the 30th tick that I removed from my legs, arms, jersey etc A couple of those hitchhikers even made there way back up to middletown to torment my wife doing the laundry from the ride(i thought i got them all off).

Anyway, great job down there. Thanks for a fun ride and keep up the good work. btw, saw the jorba mention on the kiosk!

The ticks do enjoy the ride.

Thanks for the comments about the trail markings.

We only schedule rides and TM in the Fall/Winter/Spring when we hope that most of the ticks are dormant. They are still out there though but not as bad.

Summer is really bad for tick activity on these trails and long pants/long sleeves just drains you.

Woke up this morning, headed to the facility and yup there was tick in the most undesirable place😱... At first I asked myself, " How the hell did a poppy seed get down there?"... Anyway to hit on the main point of the conversation "Ticks not only suck, they also blow!"
