SS to 1x10

I'm converting my SS to a 1x10. Will I need to change the chainring too? I have a Truvativ Stylo Crankset.

You'll just need a RD hanger and you should be fine! Assuming this is on the Mary.

To prevent chain jumping on a front ring, some kind of chain keeper should be installed.

You can keep the same ring.

Yes. For the most part, you'll be fine with your SS front Ring, though there are a few out there that are too fat to run with a narrow geared frame. I've used the Truvativ rings and I think I actually have one installed now on my 1x9 setup and they work just fine.

For chain retention, there are a number of options out there. A lot of people like the chain keepers that have a cage like a FD.. I think Paul makes one, MRP has one, and there are definitely others.

If you're looking to do it on the cheap, I've run an N-gear jumpstop on the inside and any old bashguard on the outside, with great success for the past few years.
