October 30 at LewMo. For those who've done it before, do you know what the bike course is? Says 2 mi run, 11 mi ride, 2 mi run. Curious what trails they put together for the ride. thanks.

did it in 2008 got brown hoodie
then again in 2009 got the blue hoodie

here's my garmin from 2009.

http://connect.garmin.com/activity/17105123

hope to do it again this year:popcorn:

in 2008 they had a band did not see one there in 09.

oh yeah, when the race starts you have to run accross a picnic table. costumes optional

Yeah, I spent about twenty minutes talking to the guys from Sack's Paint in Dover about it....sounds pretty fun, can't wait. Thanks for the garmin!

We did this event last year, and are doing it again this year, so much fun! I don't have a GPS file, but if you look at the regular Lewis Morris map --

http://www.mtbnj.com/files/lewis-morris-2004-color.jpg

--last year the run was the green trail and the ride was clockwise (if I remember correctly) from sunrise lake yellow-orange-teal-red-orange-yellow back to the lake.

Maybe someone else has something more accurate!

Race

I'm already in again. Its a good time and the beer is good too. I gotta admit its a pretty tough race. The trail running isnt all that hard but the bottlenecking is brutal. 2 laps on the race course and then the final trail run, you'll feel it the next day for sure. Plus, you never know how cold its gonna be on 10/30. Good time though and well organized.

Just pulled this from the reg site:

The Run Course Will Be 1 Loop Each Time Of Greenish-Yellow The Bike Course Will Be 2 Loops Of The Yellow Trail The Transition Area Will Be Next To Sunrise Lake Bike Course Will Proceed In A Clockwise Direction

I am thinking of signing up for this, but wow, $81 to register...

I hope that's a really nice sweatshirt...

i have a friend who runs but doesnt bike offroad, he asked me if there is an option to sign up as teams (one person runs and one who bikes) anyone know the answer to that?

I think the price gets everyone. I did the race 2008 & 2009 and loved it.

However, I have two of the sweatshirts, I certainly don't need a third, $80 is wayyyy too much money.

If they're getting all the spots filled at $80, good for them.

I did this a few years ago. good event and the year I did it they had a GREAT sweatshirt. unfortunately I signed up day of and they ran out 🙁 . price is steep but the sweatshirt is sweet.

I'd do it every year but my knees have simply put a ban on running.

i wore the sweat shirt to the gym this morning and my roadie buddy thought i looked like i was ready for a windy day at the beach (along w/flip flops that got me kicked off the weight room floor).

as much as I like the sweat shirt, i could probably use a long sleave shirt for running or cycling, if there's any way to get the word out to the powers that be for next year, as I'm sure they already have this years hoodie on order.

if anyone is up for pre ride the course i am game for early saturdays or sundays:popcorn:

4-6 inches of snow coming on Saturday up here in Sussex County, hopefully Morristown will be a little warmer...

I hope so too...its WAAYYYY too early for snow

Btw, anyone down for an after race session and/or some food/drinks? (weather permitting)

Wow- snow.
Anyone know where we can check Sunday morning to see if this is still on?
I'm all game for playing in the snow, but in the event it's cancelled,
I'd rather not have to drive an hour to find out...

Thanks

Just talked to one of the coordinators, it's on rain or shine. Sunday forecast looks good, it's just a matter of what comes in on Saturday and how it leaves the trails.

Chris-I might be up for a beer afterwards, it'll be a post-game call.
I'll be on a black specialized HT wearing snowshoes.
