More fires at CCC

there's been alot of fires at CCC over the past few months. Today was a huge fire alone the ridge and jumping over the ridge trail into the adjacent woods. There were 2 Forrest Service trucks there this afternoon. They were investigating and cut a a few more firebreaks in the woods to help compartmentalize any further fires. I talked to the one guy. All the fires at CCC this year have been arson he told me. AT first we thought 1 or 2 of them were controlled burns, but he assured me that this wasn't the case. Almost all the fires have been set at night. So if you ride these trails keep your eyes open for anything suspicious.

I spoke to one of the forestry service guys yesterday too and he informed me there have been approx. 30 fire calls to this location over the last 3 months. He also told me most are being started late at night. Law enforcement is aware and they are taking this very serious.

Yeah it was reassuring to see both fire and police presence on the scene. I'm fearful we might lose a significant portion of our trails if they don't catch this person(s) soon.

Hopefully the culprit is brought to justice soon. If we can help, let us know.

Not to mention the loss of trees, plants and any wildlife living in said trees.

spoke with a township cop (our sons play lacrosse together), they caught four kids that eventually admitted to starting all the fires at CCC, not sure what the punishment will be but hopefully this will be the last of it
