We are still working every Thursday evening starting at 4 pm until 30 minutes before dark. If you have a hour or more come out and give a hand its only a ten minute walk, or bike, from the school to the worksite. Steady rain will cancel. I will see you guys about 5:30....

The sun is shining at the moment. So, unless things get real rainy, real fast, we should be up there at the school around 4:00.

I would recommend a rain coat just incase, and tick protection. Rain can bring out the ticks in hurray 🙁.

We got a good amount of work done last night, this is one of the last 3 turns in the lower section. See you guys next Thursday.

Yes, we are getting close to officially opening this section, thanks to the 42 volunteers that have come out to help. We have currently logged 325 hours of work into this trail. Weather permitting, we plan to work every Thursday 4:00 to 7:30 and Saturday June 1, National Trail Day. Maybe one other weekend day added in as well. Please come out and help, so that we can try to get this open on National Trail Day!

A big thanks to the 10 volunteers that came out yesterday to build trail and fight the annoying bugs :getsome:. Only one turn and benching a connector left to do, and this trail should be ready for an official opening. We have 3 work days left to get this open for National Trail Day. Let's do it!

Work days the next few weeks:

Thursdays: May 23 and May 30 at 4:00 or whenever you can get there.

Saturday June 1 at 9:00 am.

Below some pictures of the last few turns we built:
1. panoramic of a turn that crosses several humps
2. rock work in that turn
3. the turn above

Looks like you guys got a lot of wok done, taking 3 days off from work last week is killing me. I am going to be playing catch up for the next few weeks. That being said I am going to try to make it on Thursday. I only missed being there because I was out of the country....

Dirty Thursdays for May 23rd has been cancelled due to severe thunderstorms. See you all next Thursday!

Looks like it is going to be hot and dry for Dirty thursday this week. We need some extra volunteers this week to make up for our missed day last week. Please don't forget we are working Saturday too, and hopefully opening and riding this new section by midday on Saturday. Hope to see you all there.

James

Thanks to those that came out and stayed through some rain. Much done and is looking good. Sorry, no pictures tonight.

Where exactly does the new white trail begin? I was looking for it last weekend and ended up on some sort of white/silver blazed fireroad. It eventually went into the woods on my right. We followed it up a hill (was unridable) and hit a Blue blazed trail that eventually hit the pipeline all the way on top. Was I on Pierson ridge trail?

Where is the new white trail in relation to all this? Thx

Yes it sounds like you were on Pierson. We will not get to that section until next year.

Technically, the crossover (white trail) runs from Sloatsburg Rd (by RW Manor) all the way to Bear Swamp. Much of it is hike a bike or eroded fire road, so we (JORBA) with cooperation of the hiker group and State Park, are building sustainable re-routes.

The section just completed, runs from the race course loop below Webly Pond down towards where it crosses Whites Rd. It will not be blazed until all 5 sections are complete. If you hop onto the race course by Webly, you should find it.

Dirty Thursday trail work has been cancelled for June 13 due to the weather. Hope to see you next week.

It was designed t be ridden both directions. I think it climbs well, but it's always nice to hear what others think in that department.

Thanks for the intel!! Hoping to get out this weekend and do some more exploring.

Had the pleasure of riding this trail in both directions today. I think it climbs really well with the switchbacks. Overall, its great in both directions, just needs some traffic to pack down the dirt.

Had the opportunity to ride this on Saturday. Wow, if your looking for flow, this is one of the sweetest sections of downhill singletrack you will find. If your looking to climb on singletrack, this is also a treat! Thanks so much for your efforts. Hope to get out to do some work with you.
