Rode last night - conditions were atrocious.

We really need to get a crew together for some major trail maintenance. We need some cleanup of current trails, re-routing of continually muddy spots, and trail building in some new areas i've been scouting (including extending Harvey's trail).

cheers

What baldplate needs is some new trails that horses aren't allowed on. The horse riders that use the park have no regard to the trail conditions when they go back there and they are quickly destroying all the trails they use. I do not even waste my time trying to ride there anymore because it is just very frustrating to go through the trails (which are all about as wide as a jeep road now) and get beat up by the foot deep horse ruts. It is sad though, because I ride past the trailheads on my road bike a lot and it only reminds me of how good it could be.

I feel the same exact way.

What's up with Harvey's trail? I rode it about a month ago and made a left at the bottom to head back up the mountain.

Kevin Stout w/ JORBA is spearheading the efforts at Baldpate. I spoke to him about a month ago expect to see TM schedules come out for possibly this fall / winter or even early next year. When I spoke to him he state he was still working on a plan of action that is best for the park trails. Also check out the Mercer County Bike Festival coming up.

Work is being done, but no public TM's are scheduled yet. I expect there will be some coming up very soon.

I think he may have called my shop tonight to talk to one of the guys about trail work. Think:hmmm:
