Canal paths??

I just bought my girlfriends daughter a stroller to tow behind my bike and I thought it would be a nice ride for all of us to go riding together and stop to walk around and eat at some of the small towns along the way. I have no idea where to go/park/ride/eat.........

As a Suggestion, start at Washingtons Crossing SP on the D&R Canal Path( Jersey side) and ride to Lamberville for lunch, or Bulls Island SP if you feel energetic. We do this once a year as a distraction from riding the trails and road and its always fun. Path is flat and runs parallel to the Delaware River.

What a great day! I bought my girlfriend a fuel ex which she wasn't riding because the two times I took her out she got really frustrated at not making it up any of the climbs. So she just didn't ride. I went to sell her bike and she said she wanted to give it another shot (Arwens mom knows first hand! Lol) and this was just the ticket to get her started. 14 flat miles and me towing her daughter in our new chariot stroller slowed me down just enough to let her enjoy the ride that much more.
 
I am glad she enjoyed it and had fun!
Its important to make that first ride a nice one for a beginner so they dont get frustrated and turned away. Its also ok if she walks sections too, no shame in that! Sometimes when I am riding with a beginner, I will get off and walk just so they dont feel bad if they need to.
If you are doing any of the "easy" trails and you want me to come for extra company/encouragement for your girlfriend, just shoot me a PM. Especially during the week in the early evenings I am always up for a casual ride.
