I was at Sourlands back in the day when they first opened the boulders to climbing. Probably back in 2004 or 2005 maybe? So I was in the area today and I thought I'd go for a spin and see if it's as tough as everyone says...yup it is. I went in right out of the parking lot and pretty much went in numerical order(counter clockwise) and opted for the red trail through the other bouldering area to make a nice big outer loop. After riding for a bit I'm pretty sure that most ride it in the opposite direction but it was pretty fun this way.

That first climb is awesome!!! I love the feeling of really having to figure out the puzzle to be able to ride through some of the rocks. I rode what I could and got a lot of it but it left me with the feeling that I need to come back and session some of the trails to see if I could clean it or try different lines. I had the feeling that it's a smaller and more rugged Blue Mountain. Great stuff back there and super demanding to ride. You need to be really aware of balance and position to ride some of those features.

After my Sourlands loop I went over to 6 mile and got in the turny groove. What awesome trail systems and so close. Most of the time before races I like to work on my balance on rocky stuff and my technical turning. I got some of that big time today. Good stuff!!! I'll be back again soon...

How many miles is it between the two? And how far away is Chimney Rock? I saw that as I left and couldn't believe how close all 3 are.

Welcome to our boulder playground. Come back soon. There are plenty of optional lines lines to increase the pucker factor if you're feeling bored. 😀

Give me a heads up next time R dog!!! I'm right between the two but favor the 6mile side o'town. I don't get summers off :wedgie: so plan accordingly. Seriously don't make me do another 100 to ride "with" you, seriously

Memories... I remember in HS 2002? when I had to take off front and back wheels of my mongoose zero g to fit it in my car and rode only the lower part of SL. I mtb'd like 3 times that year maybe. I thought I was sooo badass but I am right of course.

When I was training for the Mohican I did the six mile loop and then rode to CR and back. 12miles ish between the two but SL and 6MR is Maybe something like 8mi.

camping? no but I know ppl do it at both parks on the hush hush. I'm not saying you do.

Camp in my backyard if you want or crash on the couch...
