I want to raise a big round of applause to whoever did the amazing amount of rock work on the left side of the railroad bed to try an eliminate some muddy sections. I hope that someday we can use the same amount of energy and intelligence to focus on some other much needed areas of flex!

I really want to say that I am against most new trail creations there unless ok'd by the park commission, but why log off trails that are already in existence? Especially some that are fun as hell and bring a level of technical riding that flex lacks!
(third)
Although I don't participate because I am a whenever I feel like it warrior, why does the bulldog romp never include the right side of the needle? Are they not allowed to have part of their race on that side of the park?

Closing off trails is part of basic TM. It allows heavily traveled trails to re-generate.

The needle is not part of the course because I think that crossing the park road is a no-no. At least during a race, it creates a safety issue.

One of the Root 66 races (up in CT) I did had a road crossing and that was sketchy. People pulling into the cars would have to yield to the racers. I vote nay on that 😉

Thank you. Team Bulldog and a few other volunteers did the rock work last Saturday. We'll be extending the rock road over the next few months. I'll post up the dates when we get them finalized.

what is the "official" deal with those trails? last time i was at KVSP not only were they in great shape, but they appeared to be marked. i'm referring specifically to the ST on the right side of the fire road as you're heading to the horseshoe by the ranger station on 206.

The bottom line ? If the trail is on the official park map it's an approved trail. Trail maps are available at the park hdqrts. If it's blazed it okay.

i haven't picked up a park map of KVSP in three years...but i've never ridden any unmarked trails there either.

the trails i'm referring to specifically are blazed though. i think white square? been a month or so since i've been there so i can't recall. i'm pretty sure you know the ones i'm talking about though..

White square blazes ? That trail is reserved for Halters maruaders riding the big wheels. :getsome:

It's hard enough trying to make them drink the kool-aid.
That's what you call a mixed metaphor.

I'm old enough to remember when the death of horse drawn 4 wheelers was greatly debated among the hipsters of the day.
