Poles are necessary if you're snowshoeing up and down hills or on rocky terrain, but they are probably not needed on flat/easy terrain.

    Lewis Morris Conditions

The person that groomed it last time has been snowshoeing in there a few times already, but not from either of the main parking areas.

    Tourne County Park Conditions

There was very little foot traffic as of yesterday morning. I'll be skiing there later this morning if I can get there before it warms up too much and can update, but I doubt it's changed much yet.

Dry January 2026 (The Sober Thread)

I made it to June last year as well, and I did Dry January again this year too. I also found it easier this year, and I rarely even drank NA beers. That said, rather than try and go past June, I'm planning to just drink occasionally when I feel like it, and try not to just drink regularly at home.

The 'So, what's ridable rn?' thread...

I just got back from the Tourne. It's good enough, but not great. This snow just isn't very packable, so the foot traffic didn't help as much as usual. There's a one foot wide track on most of the trails thanks to snow shoers, but the track is pretty bumpy and chewed up from the hikers.

    NJ Backcountry Skiing Spots????

I just got back from the Tourne, and it's nicely tracked in by snowshoes. I had an awesome time and did almost six miles. Probably not what @phillychris498 is looking for though :p
