Which app to rule them all? Garmin Connect vs Strava vs Training Peaks

I found a 50% deal on a training program very specific to the race I want to do. It's on a pdf so no structured sessions but the indications are there. I'm thinking on using this and load it in GC manually (24 weeks ☹️). Do you know what the equivalent (or close) metrics in GC to track fitness &...

Which app to rule them all? Garmin Connect vs Strava vs Training Peaks

I also let my Strava Premium lapse for about a while. It pisses me off that they don't let you see your workouts first/as a default when you log in. People have been asking for this for 5 years, repeatedly, and they don't budge. When I finish my ride I want to go straight to that, see how I did...

Which app to rule them all? Garmin Connect vs Strava vs Training Peaks

Here I am trying to cut down platforms and you introduce me to a new one :) It looks interesting but I'm trying to start right away and don't want to learn a new platform or spend money. Maybe for later.

Which app to rule them all? Garmin Connect vs Strava vs Training Peaks

If this has been discussed before, please point me to that; I couldn't find it. I'm getting ready to start a training program and want to track how I'm doing. In addition to tracking progress with the workouts, I'd like to track weight, fat %, FTP, LT, and possibly sleep hours. Right now I'm...

    Going Long and Hard.

Hey! Checking in after a while, and I found this! I'm begging you to do the Tour Divide 2021! Not really with me but we can start together :) I know it seems "boring" by many measures, but it's not! It has a little bit of everything. No so much due to the terrain variation but due to the weather...

    The (unofficial) Tour de Fat

Good stuff @mattybfat ! The façade of that place looks great with those windows. Glad you are SS'ing. I used to do that until recently once a week for some of the same reasons you stated. It was my hard/intense day, and the one I had the most fun in :)

Ran across orange and blue in the CO mountains

You have 5"already! Here it's starting to accumulate now. I just came back from doing a test run for rain/cold weather gear. Not many opportunities to do this around here :) Eric does awesome work! And he introduced me to MTBNJ back in the day. Things happen for a reason :) On Sunday, I ended...

Ran across orange and blue in the CO mountains

@R grate wow! Don't know what to say but THANK YOU, for any help. Heck, thank you for the enthusiasm and encouragement! You just offering to help makes me more committed to see this through. The actual race is self-supported, so I can't pre-arrange any help/support. In fact, you're not even...

Ran across orange and blue in the CO mountains

You'd think I learned my lesson but last year I decided (months ahead) to continue where I left for ~700 miles and ended up doing that without any biking the 3 months prior (new job and more excuses). Ended up quitting after 4 days/380 miles b/c my butt couldn't take it any more. Third time is a...

Ran across orange and blue in the CO mountains

Absolutely! I was planning to re-start my thread early next year because you never know what might get in the way but @R grate gave me away so I might as well start sooner :)

Ran across orange and blue in the CO mountains

Not that I now (I hope not!). I still have my first one (one of the first) in my SS. Many scratches but working like the first day. Never any maintenance at all. In my new bike I have a newer one. When they designed the boost version, they did other improvements (beefier crown area and upper...

Ran across orange and blue in the CO mountains

Hey Matty! This is my horse now :) New version of the same bike I used on my first attempt. Maiden voyage today, 101 mi and 12.4k If elevation. Starting to train for the TD next year. I miss you all! I always wear the blue & orange. This one specifically has more miles than any other biking...

    The Indoor Cyclist's support thread

I was thinking about the fan. I'll look into that. Yep, I'll sync Strava and TrainingPeaks too (it looks like I can do that too). Thanks!

I saw several of the usb dongles with the extension cord. What's the extension for. I like how small the dongle alone is and I'll have my laptop right in front of the bike, so the dongle will be just as close to the PowerTap hub to pick up the signal. Am I missing something?

What's the best way to start Zwifting on a budget? I want to try this but not ready to invest too much yet. This is what I have: CycleOps Fuid 2 trainer with a road bike with a PowerTap Pro hub. I just put Garmin cadence and speed sensors on the bike. Before I was using speed and cadence from...

    Let's Build A Fatbike!

WOW, this bike has more lives than a cat. I for one, regret having sold it. It was perfect for me, trouble free too. Now I miss not having a fatbike in CO.
