I was reading that it can cause the timing belt to jump on that motor....so id make sure you check that....although you said it still runs, so good chance it didnt, but probably worth checking

Opposite end, oil dumps out of the top into the timing chain area.
Long way for the bits to travel.

I found a few more pieces - still not all accounted for.
More tomorrow.

For reference - exhaust cam in foreground, vac pump mounts on the right.
there are a couple pieces of the pump drive visible.

Looks like there might be some scoring on the left E3 lobe....



Came apart fairly easily. The PVC valves have a one time connector. We'll see if I can re-use it.

My nextdoor neighbor did ask me if I was done with my "brake job" the other day lol the dumpster leaves on Friday. Then the newly sold house across the street with the 1-ft tall grass will be the target of the neighborhood scorn.

No the Formula had the wrap around spoiler, they were jist not made to last. It was flying apart so the previous owner pulled it off. I'll eventually get a repro fiberglass one, I hate the look without it.

you are right - ordered the hose kit and new PCV valves - which have a 5 star tamper proof bolt which is getting the vice grip treatment
$40 more after being in this deep. I need to disconnect the fuel pump and do that compression check too.

Realized the fuel rail to injector o-rings were also a one-time part. another $20.
And of course the special "between red and blue" green loctite...

green loctite is retaining compound, dont use on anything you want to disassemble in the next eternity!
