Nassau Trail conditions

Thank you. I have only riding it once when @Patrick was kind enough to take us around so no idea about what’s open or closed.

Is there a recent map that I can leverage? I have both AllTrails and Trailfork.
On Trailforks if you select “Mountain Bike” you”ll see that only those that are open to bikes are colored. Those that are not are dashed lines

When TF is in MTB mode, the closed trails are "dimmed"

As a general rule - nothing can be ridden below the field access and the closed parking lot/street crossing.

The town (actually towns) is working towards removing the deed restrictions which exclude MTB.
Patience! Government has its processes. They'll get it done. they appreciate the cycling community

Edit; I got sniped!

Based on the pics, those vines are Bittersweet. This is an invasive plant whose vines twists around a tree. Poison Ivy vines grow straight up with hairlike roots that anchor the vine to the tree.
Ok good to know.

Years ago in the middle of winter, I sawed through a fallen tree at Chimney covered in a furry vine. Ugh, I got an ugly dose of PI that day.

I knew, “Leaves of three, leave it be”, and learned this, “Hairy rope, don’t be a dope”, the hard way.

Rode here yesterday, very good shape. Rode most of Springside and 1/3 of the original side.

Noticed one tree down about 2/3 of the way down La Primera. Maybe 12" in diameter or so. Rideable, but not ideal.

Rode all of legal Springside and an exterior loop of Nassau side Saturday evening and all clear besides the aforementioned La Primera log which could be done with a folding saw, but would take a while (i woulda done it but was pressed for time). Very dry, could actually use rain.

Rode all of it today. I’m surprised I didn’t see a single other soul while out there. This place is severely under appreciated it seems.

Entirely mud free. Even the section leading to Foran was all good. Hero dirt every where. This park is amazing. What is it about the dirt here (serious question)? Any geologists know the answer? It’s like grainy and low clay content… what are the circumstances that afford the soil here and RV those magic draining qualities? Nearby Voorhees is not like that.

Tree down near the Nassau lot. I might’ve reported this earlier in the season. I’ll bring my saw next time and take care of it. It’s just above chain ring height.

The smell of honey suckle and other flowers was almost intoxicating.

I wasn’t the only one today who found the honey suckle fragrant!

Trail conditions were perfect yesterday! Grass is starting to grow quickly along the trail edges and almost time to start trimming. Foran & Sidewinder right now are the worst and I'll see if I can get there this week before it gets out of control.
