Post a picture of your next bike part or mtb gear on order!

Because regular DH Brakes on the short travel trail bike wasn’t already overkill 🙄🤷.

How do you like them? When I switch to another bike with sram g2’s, my brain panics for a second thinking the brakes aren’t working! I like the bite on them. Probably overkill for the speed and trails I ride though.

A little too early for a comprehensive review (only a handful of rides so far) but they’re promising. The bike originally came with codes that I replaced with Saints prior to moving to Mavens. One thing I CAN say… they certainly stop. Just a word of caution, I’m about a 7th grader heavier than you and they satisfy my obsessive quest for immediate stopping power. Someone your size might experience wheel lock-up which if on the front might be problematic. These are also the A1’s with the different oversized pistons and original lever. The newer B1 variant would be a better fit for you in my opinion. Hope this helps.

I’ll keep that in mind although not looking to upgrade soon since I bought this bike not too long ago.

Yes, modulation is something I had to relearn on this bike! They are a bit on/off and I really need to be careful with that front. Too much is like stabbing the brakes on your car. Woah!

very much long overdue but I finally had enough of the broken shifter cables and now my rear der needs to get replaced so I’m piecing together di2 for the road bike.

Here’s the first bits I committed to. Now I’m in the hunt for some decent R8050 shifters.

I still find the G2 to be the most disappointing brakes. OK until you really need them. I wish I had just bought codes or Shimano 4 piston.

my guides have been trouble free on two bikes since new (2017 and 2018) and the codes on my remedy are great, i AM considering getting a set of codes for my older fs bike but havent pulled the trigger yet, if i end up needing anytihng else from jenson its probably game over for my self control

All you people going back and forth between Sram and Shimano brakes should really try a pair of Hayes Dominions. They've been the most drama free brakes I've been on in years.
I have a love/hate relationship with my Dominion A4s. I love the feel, the stopping power, the looks. I hate the leaky bleed ports, cracked master cylinders, and the fact that their hoses are thicker than everyone else on the market so they don’t fit (or just barely fit with some modification and cursing) in many tube-in-tube bikes or ports.

I’m thrilled that I successfully put them on my bike and they ride amazingly. I would never buy them again because it took 3 replacements for the cracked/leaky master cylinders to get to this point.

Thankfully no issues with any of the ones I sold or used. Though, they are a tight fit. If I wouldn't use any brake that I never had trouble with in the shop I'd still be on v-brakes.

I have Paul's Klampers on my GT Grade. Once in a while I consider getting a set for my Chameleon. As I prefer old Campy on my dropped-bar bikes, the next road bike I build will likely get Klampers as well.

My Heckler came with SRAM Codes and while they're ok, I'm always amazed that when I ride the Spot with its XTR 2-piston brakes how much better the brakes work. It takes me a good ten minutes or so of the ride to get used to brakes that actually work. I have Saints to go on the Heckler, but swapping brakes is always such a faff so I keep procrastinating. Depending on how long my knee is injured, that might finally give me the incentive to swap them.

I've had Hayes Dominions since they were brand new since we used to have a deal with Hayes group and I had been pestering our rep for ages about Hayes not having a proper DH brake. I remember it being a bit of a slap when the Bergamont-Hayes DH team ran Magura brakes. When I bought my M16C in 2016 it came with Saints and I still have those brakes today on my Megatower. When I first built the Megatower, I installed the Dominions, but never felt like they had the power of the Saints, so I swapped the Saints on and haven't looked back. I still have two sets of Dominions on the shelf (one set brand new) that I can't decide what to do with.

I have no need for super strong brakes on normal NJ trails. Don't understand the hype around 4piston DH strength brakes for local trails. 2 piston XTs are more than enough for me allover the state. My (now retro) DH bike has Avid Juicys and don't feel i need to upgrade unless they break.

I ride long & steep stuff on a lot of my rides so end up needing more power than I did on NJ trails. My G2 brakes for instance were mostly OK in NJ but once out on steep/fast trails is where I found the power lacking.

For XC riding the more power is beneficial to late brake before a sharp turn.

No hype. Some of us larger folks appreciate the extra stopping power, allows for more modulation entering turns and down steeps.

It’s coming togther.

Scored a deal on DA 9150 shifters on eBay and got a very good friendly donation of an ultegra rear der. Other friend has a front der to give me so we are nearly ready for install.

Need to replace the shifter hoods and I’d like to add a D fly module so I can better manage the shifter/battery status and setup via ANT+/BT. Also need a di2 charging cable. Will be ordering those next.

Did a quick bench test the battery still had a charge and everything seems to be working fine so far.
