Nassau Trail conditions

Trails riding quite nice.

Took care of this one on the way in from Foran lot:

Then this one on Chip’s (there’s another not long before this one., but someone built it up we some smaller timber so I left it):

This on Nassau (not long before this is a double monster that needs proper equipment and talent):

There’s also a decent sized one on Bear Country (I think), 12” I’d guess.

Thank you!!! Was there again yesterday and it was phenomenal.

I rode most of Nassau and Springside this afternoon. Trails are indeed great. Only softness I noticed was the grass on the soccer field and some spots on the Foran route to the first set of boardwalks. Otherwise, hero dirt.

This pesky guy is still there. He’s the only tree down I observed today.

I so regretted not packing my silky bigboy! As someone else reported, it’s sawn almost completely through. One more undercut should do the trick. I might pay a second visit later in the week.

And I came across this largish branch above crank height.

I was able to move it out if the way. It was pretty heavy (for me).

Here’s the after.

Last, I noticed these on the little statue by the Nassau rd lot. Go get em if they are yours!

Ok as promised I went back today and took my Silky to finish what someone else started.

Meet Mister BigBoy. 14 inches of hardened Japanese steel. Yes indeed, it does matter. 😀

The chopped log was quite heavy and I could not push/pull it completely out of the path of travel. Maybe one of you stronger riders can shove it the rest of the way off to the side for me.

Happy riding!

Nice work. I’m going to try and get that big one this weekend if possible.

Trails are in great shape by the way.

That looks like pi vine on that tree(hard to be certain from pictures) Hope you scrubbed up appropriately after working.

Uh oh, I should have noticed that. I did wear gloves and it’s been 4 hours since and no itching yet so I might be ok.

if you havent scrubbed yet it can still help if you go do it now. dish soap works if you dont have any of the PI specific products.

EDIT: being highly allergic to PI i keep a handfull of these in my truck at all times, any even inkling of contact i wipe down with one. after every ride in the summer since ya never know where its hiding.

Other than the trails that were closed to Mountain biking. No, everything is open. Trails should be in great shape today.
Thank you. I have only riding it once when @Patrick was kind enough to take us around so no idea about what’s open or closed.

Is there a recent map that I can leverage? I have both AllTrails and Trailfork.
