Allamuchy North Conditions

So I tried to summarize the blowdowns from about November on from forum posts. I know there are A LOT more that haven't been reported--Earthworm/Sussex loops, recent storms, etc. This is what I'm tracking. I tried to rank the size/time from yellow (quick) to red (bigger/more cuts). I didn't put anything on the map that looked to be <4".--There are hand saws for that! I still believe the whole park needs a sweep, but its hard to do based on the size/elevation/terrain.

In my opinion the whole park needs a sweep. It'd be a divide and conquer type event with multiple two person teams hitting different loops/sections? Can we wait until it gets a little warmer? I've been doing TM in the snow the last month or so, but all the extra cold gear and bulk makes the mission harder and longer. Hoping @chainsawer is back in the game early Feb.

I'd love to lend a hand here. Can a group be setup on whatsapp or something to keep a chat going for this topic? This form of communications is a bit archaic. 😛

I'll see how hard it is to bridge to Whatsapp - ie, post here, it ends up in a chat. and visa-versa. I tend to doubt it is easy or free....

I was trudging around there yesterday and it was very tough going. Please put me on the list for the big sweep.

If we get the 8-16" they forecasted for Feb 22/23, the originally proposed dates are gonna bump. Might be looking at April at this rate. Ugghh.

Fyi. Someone did cut the 2 really big blowdowns on the road in and parking area at tranquility trailhead. Both are passable now.

Conditions - mixed bag. The general conditions were dry and very good. But there were definitely several deep "water hazards" in certain areas. Mostly riding green and white so lots of the park I didn't see. A few trees down but they didn't detract from the ride. Not like it was one after the other. Typical March Allamuchy.
