This is my biggest pet peeve on the trails. I don't want another broken collarbone, but that will heal. More importantly, pulmonary contusions from a bike wheel rolling over a dog's chest are a bad way to die in a vet hospital. Ask me how I know....
In this part of the country you don't need to go to wooded areas. I used to live in a second-floor apartment in Yonkers and would find several ticks inside every year. Lil bastards scare the hell out of me.
Came here to say this. Much better than tweezers, and lots of various designs available.
Gonna keep playing this broken record but please make sure your pets are up to date on their parasite preventatives. Shit's scary out there.
That's Bravecto. It's.... fine. It's great against fleas for the full 12 weeks but its tick protection tapers off pretty rapidly after the first month. Glad it's working for you but it makes me nervous in this part of the country. It's probably perfectly fine for my mom's dogs back home in KS...
If it's above freezing, ticks are active. Glad you found it.
Friendly reminder from your neighborhood veterinarian to make sure your pets get monthly flea and tick prevention year-round. I make a lot more money for treating Lyme than I do preventing it but damned if I'm gonna let my patients go...
Scrimmage before the first game of the beer-league softball season starts on Monday. I got a HR with 3 RBIs! (I don't actually know anything about baseball/softball)
I have this one on my gravel bike and have been happy with it. It was the longest one I could find when I went hunting a few years ago. I think there was maybe a 125mm available but it was double the price.
