    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

well i am very shocked to say that red dot trail is completely clear. there's a lot of debris on the floor so tread carefully but not a single downed tree. no mud either

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

yeah the northern ones take a lot of effort NOT to be wet/underwater, especially in march. the problem for me is that i have to traverse them in order to get to the ones you mentioned and besides the mud, my lungs and legs just aren't there at this point in the season. too much apple strudel...

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

idk man the trails i rode on saturday were a disaster, at least on the lower elevation trails. almost completely underwater in sections. mud and massive puddles everywhere and even snow (!) still in some spots. as mentioned, the pumphouse bridge is not passable which forced me to go completely...

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

the winds have done a number on two bridges, many trees down. still rideable but it's not in great shape. at least 6 and if you're coming from cherry ridge be very careful at that short steep drop as one of them is just over the ridge. a couple down on mojo as well. hemlock is ok

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

well i'll answer my own question because as of saturday 10/11 all of the tape and signage has been removed, so it's open once again. i wasn't brave enough to ride it because it's never in good condition even when it wasn't closed for 4 months, but it's open...

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

has there ever been any follow up with this? trail has been closed for 4 months now. if we're leaving it up to the park to monitor we may as well just say it's permanently closed because they're never going to check on it. otoh, if the tree has survived for 4 months of storms and weather...

    Trail blazing Mojo Swamp

hang on so this group has permission from the DEP to go around painting permanent white markers for a loop for a race? what's going on with this park? it's bad enough there's some kayak company completely dominating the boat launch ramps on weekends

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

probably unrelated, but i've seen 10x more atvs and dirt bikes this season than any year in the past. it's getting a little out of control

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

the stupid tree on mojo is cleared. thanks to whoever is taking care of the brush on mojo and hemlock. you are a hero to me there's a really old and worn out looking tree down in the middle of hemlock that's about chest high. it's pretty big but the woodpeckers have been feasting on it for...

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

There's a small ish 3-4 inch diameter tree down just after the top of mojo right in the middle of that thorn patch. It's off the ground and is pretty well hidden. After the crash (...) I tried to expose it as much as possible and didn't have anything to cut it with so be very careful here

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

very cool. i myself am having a miserable time LOL. biting flies are just about the worst i've ever seen, the trails are getting so overgrown thanks to all of the rain that you can't see the dirt in front of your wheel and the heat has been melting my face. nevertheless, i persist...

    Wawayanda State Park Conditions

sure but red dot is an official park trail and was closed as i understand it by the park officials who were supposed to inspect it periodically to see if that tree had fallen and was no longer a danger. now, besides the fact that yesterday i rode directly under no fewer than 4 other large trees...
