    SURF does not SUCK

if you are on LBI and towards the southern end, Holyoke and the wooden jetty at the very southern end are good spots. You can surf all day there now that the lifeguards are out protecting the majority of the beaches.

    SURF does not SUCK

any of you guys make it out this morning or planning to this afternoon? My buddy said the wind is from the NE (he's on LBI) but that there is some fun swell with not too much texture. Just wanted to see if anyone could report on conditions. If its decent, I might high-tail it to Belmar or even...

    SURF does not SUCK

Managed to sneak out of work early Friday and hit the southern end of LBI for an afternoon/evening session. Swell size died down a bit but the offshore wind was really making some nicely shaped waves. Even got under a few curls too. Probably wishful thinking, but let's hope that we get more...

    Pesty car mirrors

I haven't hit a mirror before, but I have felt the pain of hitting a car door suddenly opening in my path. Damn Boston taxis.

    Costa Rica

Yep, first time there. Flew into San Jose and spent first night there, then took a van to Jaco. We didn't rent a car instead opting for a rented beach crusier. Local taxis were a godsend as well. Next time, I think I will rent a car to get to some other spots. In those photos you posted a...

    Costa Rica

Just got back from CR two nights ago. What an amazing country. Very beautiful on all levels: surf, biking, hiking (and of course the ladies!). We stayed in Jaco most of the trip. The town itself reminded me of Venice Beach in Cali. It has a bit of a shady side, mostly because of the popular...

    new guy saying hello

hey man, well done on putting the ciggies down, reminds me of how tough it was to do so and makes me appreciate more the fact that i have stopped. certainly one of the best decisions I've made in my life.

    Road wheels on a mtb?

just put semi slicks on my ride for my Lambertville to downtown Trenton and back route. Definitely a worthy investment esp when doing an LSD... that is, a longer slower distance ride... : )

    Commuting

Highbridge is pretty fun for an urban park. Haven't been there since 2008 but aside from all the broken glass and a few syringes on the ground, it's pretty unreal that something like this exists in NYC. Cool video of the place here

    Commuting

Oh memories...I loved commuting with the bike when I was working in the East Village. I'd leave my apartment in Jersey City late enough in the AM to get on the PATH in Hoboken without issue, but early enough to get into work on time. And fortunately the brass at my company didn't mind me...
