If of interest, dark roasts are generally lower in the anti-oxidants touted to be beneficial to health, but have lower acidity, making them less likely to cause acid reflux. Light roasts, of course, are just the opposite.
I saw this helmet this morning just a little past the new-ish roller coaster section on Yellow (coming from the main lot side). I was tempted to bring it out to the parking lot, but was concerned the owner might try to return to the original spot and find it gone. If you zoom-in, the helmet is...
Yes, but I don't see a map with a pin in it on my version. Here's a screen capture from when I click on the "Red Perimeter" link with a yellow report symbol (photo but no map):
Could it be because I submitted the photo (and already know where it was taken)?
Ok, so I saw a downed tree on the "Red Perimeter" trail at Chimney Rock, photographed it from TrailForks, and saved the "Report." I see that the photo (actually, I guess I inadvertently posted the photo several times...) appears in one of the "Red Perimeter" tabs (with a yellow symbol beside it)...
Do you need to have a Trailforks membership to submit a report that would be useful to the trail maintenance crews? How do the crews access the reports? I'm just trying to understand how these locations and conditions are communicated.
Assuming that you can maintain your strength after some modest weight loss off-season, however, your "watts per kilogram" value can improve for competitions, a desirable outcome...
Sounds like riding with me could be the perfect Rx. I'm slowly building up my fitness after a couple of years of achilles/plantar fasciosis issues. Feel free to look me up, Pat, when you've received medical clearance to get back on the bike!
Yes, the trails are again rideable. They vary tremendously, with some areas covered in soft, wet snow with a somewhat icy base, to wet trails with no snow cover whatsoever, but fairly muddy. Lower blue could be characterized as Class II rapids in some spots...;)
Hi, Bill. I just got back from morning appointments and errands. I sent you PM saying that I've got a photo to compare with yours, but was having a problem pasting it in a reply. I see that's possible in a regular message like this one (see below). Bottom line: I think we have similarly sized...
These gloves are all in very good shape and of high quality, but I just haven't been using them. With the cold weather we're having, perhaps you could use them. I have three pairs for sale:
45Nrth Sturmfist5: A five-fingered winter glove with a velcro closure at the wrist. $25
45Nrth...
I'll look forward to riding with you, Mike...although, your comment that I've, "...always been faster..." than you is overly generous!:) To gage the possibilities, are you available at all during the week, or just weekends?
Jon: At this point in my life, 5-6" depth is about the most that I find "enjoyable" for most winter rides, and it does require a much greater effort (strategy: slower speeds in ultra low gears). If you can deliver watts to spare, your mileage may vary. Flat riding in a little greater depth is...
Thanks for the encouragement, Mike! I'm still working through some health issues, but hope to have greater clarity on what's "good" and what's "not good" for me to do by the end of February. In the meantime, I'll be venturing on a few selective, "easy" rides to maintain at least a minimal amount...
