What wine are you drinking now?

No real connoisseur here, but for budget, anytime enjoyment, I loves me some south American or Spanish wines. Chilean cabs are a favorite. This handsome devil right here is the wife's favorite 10dollarest bottle of red.

And look at what just walked in the door here on the arm of a house guest...

How was that Soos drinking? The Do et dus must have been coming into it's own.
I thought the Soos was in a good spot. A little earthy with espresso notes. The Do et dus was still tight and grippy for an 09 but started showing some nice cherry flavors as it opened.

One of the things I like least about my job is consumer tasting events. More specifically, the person at the end of said event, completely sh!tfaced who walks up to my table proclaiming "I love (whatever it is that is left on the table), it is my favorite!" Is a dick. Dont be a dick.

That being said, one of the most rewarding things I do is participate in the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice Wine & Cheese Pairing.

Don’t think I’m a dick, but I love that Big Wheel Chardonnay there. It’s my favorite!

Not a wine drinker anymore and never a connoisseur, but my father was in the business for more than 20 years after retiring from the Police force so I am familiar with the wines from my area such as Gallo Classico (Chianti) and Brunello di Montalcino (which I could never afford). I also have a soft spot for Sauterne especially if paired to some aged and sharp pecorino cheese. Don't ask specific wineries because I wouldn't know anymore, I haven't been serious about wine in at least 20 years (I'm ashamed to confess that the last 'wine' I had was some peach flavored chardonnay probably made out of some concentrated powder).

Not drinking too much wine these days, but had friends over that bring the good stuff, so exception.
Reminded me I love some cab.
