Allamuchy

The bus accident was cleaned up and all lanes are open. Now it is just normal weekend pocono volume westbound on I80. Enjoy the race!

I just got back from set-up and pre-ride...The course is amazingly fast and rolly. I'm not sure how they managed to get a loop with only a handful of slightly-barely-techy spots, but I really like it!! I think laps will be right around 50 minutes or so, I ran just under an hour goofing around. If you want to get your feet wet at the mooch, this would be the absolute perfect time, great weather and a super-easy course, if you miss this one you'll be kicking yourself in the face next year!!

just got home'

what an awesome race! it was definetly a good experience for a first mountainbike race for me.

I did a single speed double team with my brother (i think we were the only doubles on SS)

we placed 5th, with 13 laps, and were 11 minutes short of 4th..but we had a great time.

I saw alot of MTBNJ people out there, and a girl in afull getup passed me thismorning like i was standing still..there are some seriously talented riders out there.

i had an awesome time, and definetly want to come back next year

Sweet! Good work out there!

I'm curious to hear what the lead solos did. Probably in the upper teens I'm guessing.

How was the course?

I was up there yesterday at about 9ish to say hello to a few peeps. I walked the course a bit with my dog. The initial gravel road climb looked grim but the rest of what we walked seemed a lot of fun.

I spoke with Bobert W and Karen and they mentioned it was a fast 10mile loop.

The atmosphere in the JORBA camp seemed fun. I could find/didn't recognise any MTBNJers. I was wearing my MTBNJ tee shirt but no one hollered.

As Jim said, if you missed this year, just kick yourself in the face. The course rocked, it was actually fun to ride. Gerilynn and I won Co-Ed with 15 laps. There were some serious lap counts put in this year. I think the Tandem team threw down 9 laps!

Wow...I just kicked myself in the face. Well I missed the event this year due to my priorities being set for Shenandoah next year. In 09 I'm gonna be rocking the 24...oh yea.

Great race!! The course was stoopid fast, I ran day laps under 51 minutes and at night they went up a bit. The fastest male time was 46 minutes, shee-ot!! Hats off to Ellen for running the fastest women time!! I saw TONS of people from here there (I apologize if I ran you off the trail at some point😉) We won our bracket with 23 laps and got third overall, the winning team threw down 26 laps, we had one mechanical that cost us 1 1/2 hours that we couldn't make up...I will write an official report after I get some sleep😀

i loved riding past the jorba guys, the disco ball was awesome

and congratulations to Eileen Dalton, with a 2nd place womens solo!

Congrats to all the racers !!

It was impressive to see the racers pass by the JORBA camp hour after hour. One fella was even able to pull a wheelie each time by and most everyone was smiling when they heard the cow bells and cheers.😀

It was also very humbling at 4am when I was on the first climb and I was gasping for air only to have Jim V.( I think) ride past and say "Hi Frank" like he was on the sidelines. The worst part of it was that I was on lap 2 and he was on like 200. 😱

And we enjoyed "cowbelling" you guys! That was the most fun I have had at a 24 Hours of Allamuchy Race. Perfect weather, great course, great company, great teammates and, with our campsite, a great view of the racers as they went by. Some people were actually begging for cowbell and it seemed like it gave them an energy boost.

Overall, aside from the perfect weather, I enjoyed the race this year because it was a bit smaller and it felt more "grassroots" than in past years. 😀
