Rumble in the Jungle 2014

I heard it was mostly backwards from last year, but I was not part of the weekend scout ride... Someone chime in!

It looks like last year was the same as 2012, which was counter clockwise, going up otter slide and Shute- going down those will be interesting...

I did a couple of laps of the cat 1 course yesterday which will be different from the cat2 and cat 3 courses. I cant comment on those courses, but the cat 1 course will be tough for sure. Basically reverse of last year, so from the start you head through the pavement/ST/river crossing nomans land of jungle for the first 5 minutes. Then you climb up to the small piece of I think fish that we did last year. Hit that, then across the road and into boon....To get into boon you have to blast up the big rock face..left through the fence and then uphill on boon to the top and back though the fence again, then down and back out to the road. Not all of the boon trail, but a nice piece of it. Back out and over across the pipe and over to bottom of cages (last year in reverse) Climb cages up, but rather then go through the fence and up that crazy steep downhill, you stay on the single track and climb that to the tanks. Some tricky rock features to clear for sure. After the tanks its otterslide downhill then over to warthog. We do about half of warthog, then jump out onto the pavement and up the hill back to the start.

Good stuff, TTC put together a sweet course for sure, albeit tough.
 
where can I find out more info about this rumble in the jungle , i'm looking to join a few races this yr .... did my 1st race last year had a great time so looking to turn up this year ... I haven't been to jungle habit before but like to think I can handle myself in most single track terrain
 
Cat. 1-2 lap tour on Thursday, May 15 - 5:30 p.m. Moderate pace. Light rain, we'll ride, heavy rain or thunder, we'll stay home.

Cat. 3 lap tour on Sat. May 17, 10:30 a.m. Casual pace, no pressure!

The Cat. 2 lap is approximately 5 miles - but remember these are Jungle miles, so keep that in mind! We're thinking 45 mins a lap for the average Cat. 2 racer, give or take a few minutes.
 
Riding 545 today if you like rocks and want to join a small group ride
Not riding race course probably just some sections here and there but will give you a taste of jungle if you haven't been or just want to ride today.
Will be in a jeep on an Ellsworth if you show up come on by.
 
CAT2 COURSE

Road Cat 2 course today. If you can't make the 5:30 Thursday pre-ride I will be heading our Thursday at 12:30 for another loop.
 
I'm glad there is no h2h points associated with this race- I'm terrible with rocks lol
