Steel frame roll call...

Getting one soon, someone ripped off the geometry of my 29er and is making them out of steal, so I'm buying one 😉
They are almost ready but I'm torn between a small and medium. I ride a small now and it's super nimble and awesome, but I lack a bike I can really crank out miles on, so I might go with the medium.

Me me me! Haro Mary then upgraded to my Salsa El Mariachi. I love the Salsa so much that I keep it in my house so it doesn't catch cold.

I test drove the 2011 el mariachi at halters a few months ago. That bike was sharp and the gunmetal look made it even sharper. I probably could have walked out with it ifi didnt already have the cdale on order...There are no pix in the obligatory "post your ride" thread?

Did you ever have it set up with the Bontrager crown and a Judy? If so, did you notice much differnce going to the Bomber?

I believe I have one of these (currently on a Privateer) that I could be convinced into selling.

You may as well just sell that whole bike. It's too big for you, remember? 🙂

Yea but I never got around to shortening everything up and re-trying, so it's still hanging up in my garage with my 10 other todo projects :hmmm:

The default stem on that bike is ridiculous like 150+ mm.

That Misfit looks very similar to the Siren anyway doesn't it?

Hence was why I was so close to pulling trigger till I was tempted by the Misfit which was a no-brainier.

I've had my eye on that Siren as well. Has anyone ridden one, or know anyone that rides one?

I've talked to two owners out in Big Colorado who absolutely loved it. That said I was going to tweak it a bit to match the Misfit. Brendan is an absolute charm to deal with and really good at keeping you updated with phone and e-mail...

You don't like the ChrisG reach-for-it riding position? Oh I keep forgetting you didn't ride in the 90's. Yeah a shorter stem, and some bars with a bit of sweep, should help. You should make that a your current project so you can get out on that bike in the Spring.

you must really love that bike, you even got the disc brake adapter v-brake mount thingy for the back

I bought a 950 as a Christmas present for a girl I was seeing in around 1991. It was her first (and only) mountain bike. I put some of the day's nicest gee-whiz parts on it (Ringle cages / Skewers, Fisher Fat tracks front tyre, control tech post and stem) and we rode together once: On some tow path in Northern NJ. Last I heard, that bike is still hanging in her dad's basement in Keyport... with one ride on it.

THANK YOU So So much for that unnecessarily long overdrawn tearjerker of a tale...
1 ride,Geez so soirry too hear... But dont worry I think mine might of made up some of the difference in ride time...

Voodoo Soukri 29er set up as a rigid 1X9 (pic below). Also have a Redline Monocog 29er for Allaire, Six Mile, Lew Mo, KVSP (my chicken legs can't handle anything steeper in one gear). Neither are fancy, but they ride very nicely, even in the chop of packed snow trails.
